A range of robust cruising sails ruggedly built from durable materials. This is our most popular range of sails typically used on the family cruising yacht where the emphasis is on durability and ease of setting and handling.
The sails are cut using our tried and tested computerised design and manufacturing process minimising waste in the cutting process. Sails are strongly finished with no frills or racing gadgets.
Mainsails include luff slides, foot rope, leach line and cleat, glass fibre battens with protective end caps and a sail bag.
Genoas include stretch luff, bronze piston hanks leathered to prevent chafe, separated leach and foot tabling, leach line and cleat, hydraulically pressed head tack and clew rings, and bag. Jibs as per Genoa but with optional wire luff. Roller reefing Genoas have head and tack webbings. A sacrificial suncover is fitted as standard.
Cloth: We use and ultra violet resistant cloth as standard supplied in a softer finish than cruiser racing cloth. The sail is completed with a marine grade anodised aluminium headboard with stainless steel liners and rivets. Shrink reduced staple polyester bolt rope. Heamingway & Bartlett 100% Dacron Thread: Seams triple or quadruple sewn in chestnut coloured thread (average of 30/40 stitches per inch). Thermo adhesive sail numbers. Telltales. Leech Cunningham Hole. Glass fibre battens with protective end caps. Reinforced batten pockets. No.10 pressed rings or spur tooth 1 G gromits for luff slides and hanks. Luff slides or bolt rope to suit your mast. Leechline with Gren Segal leechline cleat. Separated leech tabling. Double taped luff and foot. Clews and hanks of headsails are webbinged to prevent chafe: 6 oz nylon sail bag labelled, with handle. Reef points if required are fitted with load absorbing specially laminated patches of greater strength than the clew and tack reinforcing with lacing points for stowing the bulk of the sail.
